JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to perform custodial, landscaping, and light maintenance tasks and to assist staff with various operational duties at assigned CCWA facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs custodial and light maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, dusting, sanitizing public areas, and vacuuming.
- Assists with upkeep of grounds as assigned.
- Depending upon the area of assignment, incumbent may assist with other special projects as needed.
- Assists staff with various operational, maintenance, and courier duties.
- Keeps facilities stocked with janitorial supplies.
- Operates or uses as well as maintains various custodial and maintenance equipment, tools, and supplies to complete work assignments.
- Communicates with supervisor, other CCWA employees, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
- Water Production : Maintains cleanliness of the water production facilities; treats the reservoirs; assists with upkeep of trails and gardens; removes problematic plant species; may accept delivery of chemicals; performs pump station maintenance; takes trash to the dumpster; takes recycling to recycling center; shops for needed supplies or goes to CCWA warehouse; cleans windows and signs as needed; washes and gases vehicles; and stocks trail maps and brochures at locations.
- Performs other assigned duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- High school diploma or equivalent; six (6) months of work experience in any field that shows an ability to maintain steady employment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as medium work involving lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. If someone can do medium work, then he or she can also do sedentary and light work.
- Tasks typically involve some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged standing; tasks may also involve some pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of heavy weight. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as biting insects, dirt, dust, wetness, humidity, temperature, noise extremes, hazardous materials, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, toxic agents, disease, or pathogenic substances.
